Twin Blasts Cost Justin Verlander His Ninth Win

Made of Honor dvd

The Tigers lost their rubber game this afternoon against the Athletics despite having their ace, Justin Verlander, on the mound.  He was given a quick one run lead but he gave up a pair of blasts to Jack Cust and Jason Giambi in what would eventually be a 5-1 loss.  He needed 102 pitches to get through six innings but one bright spot was he struck out six and walked just one.  Brandon Lyon gave up a run in the eight to account for the rest of the damage.

Junior Pilot trailer I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer video A Walk in the Sun video Dallas Braden did a number on the Tigers.  Gerald Laird doubled home Ryan Raburn in the second but outside of that, they didn’t get much done at the plate.  Raburn was the lone hitter to reach base twice with a single and a walk although oddly, four of the six Tigers’ hits were doubles.

The Twins won already this afternoon so the Tigers’ lead is now just three games.  They get a day off before taking on the Twins for a three game series beginning Friday.  Game one has Lucas French making his first career start while ten game winner Kevin Slowey throws for the Twins.
