Quick Hit: Why the Tigers Can't Sit Still?

I’m going to open this up to the readers.  The Tigers are in a virtual tie for first place, but I swear they’re making moves like a team in panic mode.  I’m not arguing with a lot of the moves, but does anyone ever remember a good team shuffling key members of the team back and forth like the Tigers have?

if leyland had shown support for his players more often, they wouldnt get so many bad calls

I agree the number of moves has been unusual, but I wouldn’t call it panic mode. I do get the feeling there is pressure from Illitch to win, and that they may be making moves quicker than usual for that reason. I think the moves have been the right ones though.

No, I don’t remember a good team making these kinds of moves. DFAing their starting/platooned SS and a starting pitcher. Then sending their starting 2B to the minors along with 2 of who most thought would be their 2nd and 3rd best starting pitchers. Yeah, a lot of moves.

I’m good with it though. They are in the hunt and that’s all a fan could want.

Yeah, it looks like we’re all in agreement. We can’t argue the moves, but it’s just plain odd for a team in contention. Hopefully things will settle down here up until the trade deadline so we know what we have and what we need.
