CC Sabathia was just a little bit better today as the Tigers lost a tough one to the Yankees 2-1. I actually had a chance to watch the first couple of innings of this game with my five year old son. He’s learning the basics in T-ball but it was kind of funny watching him get all bent every time the Yankees got a hit. When we stopped watching, it was still scoreless and I when I turned it back on, the game was over. Verlander went seven and it was that final inning that he got into trouble. He served up a leadoff home run to Alex Rodriguez then got two outs before he got into trouble again. A single, double, then another single resulted in a second run and fortunately he got out of even bigger trouble because he needed to get Derek Jeter out to get out of the jam.
Staunton Hill movies Rapid Fire buy Marcus Thames belted a solo home run to cut the deficit in half but that’s the closest the Tigers got. Thames was also the only hitter with two hits. The Tigers actually had two men on in each of the first two innings but both times CC pitched out the jams. Placido Polanco and Magglio Ordonez both belted doubles in the loss.
The Tigers try to avoid the sweep tomorrow afternoon. It’ll be Edwin Jackson going up against Joba Chamberlain. Joba has been all over the place this year and at times, he looks very good and at other times, not so.
