The Gary Sheffield trade just got better because now it’s been announced that Humberto Sanchez will have Tommy John surgery and will miss the entire 2007. I hope he has a speedy recovery. Sanchez broke out last year with some solid starts at both Erie and Toledo before he was shut down around the trading deadline because of his elbow. Then of course he was the primary player in the trade this offseason that brought Gary Sheffield to Detroit.Â
I was wondering if anyone else read Chad Durbin’s comments in the paper today. In a round about way he blamed Pudge’s pitch selection for his poor performance. He said that he said that he will be more assertive tonight and shake him off more. Hold on to your hats!
--Great! I did’nt know that piece of crap was pitching tonight. I am going to the game tonight so I guess I am gonna be 0-2 this year I went to opening day too…
--Durbin is doing his best “league average pitcher” impression. Now the Tigers need to score some runs. They are hitting it on the screws Marcus “Man Crush” Thames just missed a homer and Infante a double. Inge just went down faster than the Andrea Doria. Pudge doubles.
--Well tigers catch some breaks and instead of going for the big inning he decides to put casey in for Thames who then strikes out on 3 straight pitches.
--[…] at TigerBlog reports that phormer phenom Humberto Sanchez is slated for Tommy John surgery and out for the year. […]

Well lets hope that Sheffield also won’t be out for the season. I wish him sincerely wish him speedy recovery as well.
